lupus

Hi, so I’ve been under investigation for months now. I haven’t felt well since this time last year, had a miscarriage, pneumonia, swelling on brain.. I see a rheumatologist on the 30th of this month. I have constant brain fog and head pain, painful eyes, painful joints, electrical sensations threw out my body, constantly getting chest infections etc etc but for the past 3 weeks I’ve been feeling deathly and have developed this rash. Could this be lupus? Scared 30 year old chef trying to work full time 🙈 sorry for the horrid photo lol it’s been a really rough week x

I think you know what we can say on here … it could well be lupus from your collection of symptoms but you won’t really know until you’ve had a whole load of tests done. It’s good that you’ve got a rheumatology appointment coming up soon as at least you are on your way to finding some answers. It’s been a horrible time for you and I hope you’ve got a supportive employer as you really need to be able to look after yourself right now. As someone who has also had miscarriages, this really hits you hard too so make sure you reach out for help if you need it - the Miscarriage Association was a good place to start for me. It was linked to my autoimmune diseases as it turned out and I went on to have a rainbow baby with the right support so there is hope out there. Aww so sorry to hear of your tough time and really sorry to hear about your miscarriage. There’s a lot of overlap with my symptoms but equally they could be caused by a range of autoimmune diseases so great your seeing rheumatology I hope you get speedy answers. I was really quite poorly when I was diagnosed with SLE but quite quickly recovered once on the right meds and still able to work full time and have had two beautiful babies since diagnosis. One thing to ask could be antirho and anti Le antibodies and anti phospholipid antibodies which are related to lupus and increase chance of miscarriages.
