The title says it all really.
I have finally landed on the ward for Acute medics and an pleased to be under the correct team. However, can you imagine my frustration when I was wheeled on and ALL the lights are LED, not a fluroecent light insight. I hand been assured that everything was being done to accommodate me including the trust purchasing portable LED lights.
The estates and facilities teams had been contacted who said this ward had fluroecent lights, the lead nurse said that the lights were fluroecent, everyone who was asked said the lights were fluroecent and not LEF. I offered multiple times to come up in a wheelchair and check the lights but I was told that I couldn't. After 6 days of waiting to be moved to the appropriate ward and not recieving appropriate medical care on the ward that I was stagnating on, can you imagine my shock when I saw that I could have been up here 6 days ago, getting the care that I need.
I feel a fool and what a waste of time for everyone. Time is so precious and the senior staff of the hospital have been using their time to solve a problem that wasn't a problem in the first place. Not to mention the time that Paul Howard spent trying to help me when that time could have been allocated to others.
Seriously, how many matrons does it take to change a light bulb? And if they can't tell one light bulb from another, how can they tell their bottom from their olecrolon?
Best to all
