Change of statin medication

I have been contacted by my GP to change my statin from simvastin 80 mg to astorvastin 20 mg. My estimated non HDL is currently at 2.7 and they want it at 2.5. Has anyone had experience of astorvastin?

If you mean ATORVASTATIN then yes , I'm on 80 mg with no problems . I started on 10 mg then 20 mg , 40 mg then 80 mg . I'm trying to get below 2.5 non HDL as well . I managed this in the beginning but it gradually crept up to 2.9 at my last FBC . I think this might be because I'm not so careful with my diet as I was in the beginning . ( sigh ) 😕
