cutaneous lupus

I have got subacute cutaneous lupus and coeliac and my question is I got covid back in October and was quite poorly and I would say just over it now. As a nurse I took all covid vaccines but was never sent by my GP to get them as they said I was not high risk. Can you clarify. I never got the very last one as was not offered to NHS staff in Scotland. Thanks in advance.

Hi No2Sunshine. I can't answer your question directly but can give you my experience, being in Scotland too. I was diagnosed with UCTD in February last year. After that, I've received all the relevant 'blue envelope' invitations to receive boosters. I don't actually know if it was my hospital rheumatology department or my G.P. that put me on the list for these (suspect rheumatology). For this year's Spring booster in Scotland, initially only those with weakened immune systems due to being immunosuppressed were being invited. The scope was then widened to also include weakened immune systems due to autoimmune disease. Sure this information is on the N.H.S. Inform website. I'm not immunosuppressed and received my invitation in April and booster in May. Maybe worth a call to rheumatology? Hope this helps.

Hi ,The letter initially has to come from your consultant to your GP to say that you have weaken immune response due to drugs you are taking such as .. it should be a list of drugs that is under NHS list . When it was initially listed when Covid first came out in late 2019 early 2020 it was then updated again and Hydroxchoriquine was taken out of the list if I am not mistaken. I had one issue by my consultant to my GP during the early stages of Covid, this initialiase/trigger the system to log you in so that you are registered with them.

So ,yes you will need to speak to your consultant if you are still seeing he/she and get her to write to your GP and let them know of situation.

I therefore get all reminders of my jabs and boosters and also recently a reminder about the change of the emergency call out system that will be soon crease .

Hope you get it all sorted out.
