i’ve found this website which I’ve signed up to …it may be useful to some of you good folk too (but I bet some of you know this site already🤩)…I am also signed up with m6 local NHS Bowel & Bladder Service, but the gear they provide free of charge is very cumbersome & have been coping for quite a while, but am beginning to want to see if my Piggy Bank can fund alternatives that are easier to use etc…& this site’s pricing is pretty helpful:
Fabulous photo, animals are so beautiful and give us so much. Re the incontinence issues, I got a “ can’t wait” card to use in lots of places in the UK which has been very helpful to me. Xxx
In the heatwave my husband and I filled every container we could and went to give the wild horses a drink. It was so emotional as these beautiful creatures came close and by the second day many allowed us to stroke their muzzles and ears. It was also hilarious as one used the car bumper to scratch her bum. We could see their babies kicking. They don’t often come down so low off the mountain but we’re lying all over the road as if it was a cry for help. I put an appeal out on Facebook for others to help and sure enough others turned up. It restores your faith in human nature. We also got to hand feed geese at the Slimbridge Wetlands Centre which was just amazing too. Animals really are the best of us.
Thank you, this will really help my mum. She's had terrible service from the NHS bladder people ... I can't believe how little they "allow" as number of pads per day, and It's a disgrace that GP has no control over these particular services. I'm not sure if the answer to anyone, regards poor service, and inadequate provision for peoples needs
Am sad you & your mum are having this trouble (GRRRR)…that is DREADFUL…am appalled 🤦🏼♀️…v much hope you 2 can work out something better
I guess I’ve been more lucky here in my part of Suffolk. during COVID lockdown I had been coping with what my poor husband could find at our supermarket…now am still shielding, but I do go to health appts & collect my own meds at our GP dispensary…when I asked there about incontinence supplies they told me to self refer to our Bladder & Bowel clinic. I got an appt almost immediately…although the nurse at my clinic clearly wanted to be helpful, I got the feeling it was a ‘1 offering for everyone’ regardless of their individual needs, ie the status of their version of incontinence on the ‘spectrum’…does that make sense? The little stretchy pseudo-bicycling shorts are great, but I’ve ended up with LOADS of huge pads to stuff in them, which I’m too disabled to manage without getting all tangled up 😆….what I need is the pants + loads of medium size pads…so, we’re going to see if we can get something more manageable from this website, & eventually I’ll check in with the B&B clinic again to see if they can supply that sort of thing 🤷🏼♀️.
