Advice office mouse keyboard etc

Hi everyone! Hope you're all ok. I plan to try and expense some ergonomic office equipment, and will ask rheumy for a letter. As of the last month or so my hands have felt very weak, and an ache in my arms, elbows and hands make it annoying to type, rest my wrists on the desk , and use a mouse. Any suggestions for products you found helpful please?

Try a ball mouse, they are easier to move and you can use the palm of your hand instead of fingers to click. It also helped me to find a position where my arms are above the desk, not on it. Try to keep your wrists straight also, wear braces to train yourself. A standing desk might help too, then you don’t need to hold your arms up.

Wrist supports/braces were fitted to my wrists while learning to be a PA at college.....but that was in 1980.....they worked though and without them I could hardly lift a glass to take my own meds

I use a vertical mouse and it has really alleviated wrist and lower arm symptoms. There's many brands out there, just Google vertical mouse.

I have a similar issue with achy wrists. I have a desk in a corner with two right angled surfaces. You can then sit in the right angle, with the computer in front of you, and rest your arms on either side of the desk. It makes an amazing difference to me. Best wishes.

Access for work recommended one for me that is taller and the buttons are on the side so my thumb works them. I don’t know name or style. Takes no effort to use.

I also have a keyboard shaped like a wave so hands/wrists not bent.

I was recommended a penguin upright mouse by my employers adjustments team - apparently it puts your hand in a more natural position than twisted to be placed on a typical mouse. I also got a keyboard with a smaller profile/no number pad.

I use a mouse mat with a gel wrist support. Tons out there to choose from. You can also get a long gel support that runs the length of your keyboard too.

Hello. I've had the same issues. I put my laptop on a stand, use a plug in ergonomic keyboard and upright mouse and it's really helped. I hope you are more comfortable soon.

As I plan to improve my home office setup, I've been exploring ways to make it more ergonomic and comfortable. During my research, I came across PrintSafari's. They offer various options at printsafari.com/us_en/posters website. There you will find a print services, which are top-notch. I'm definitely considering investing in a stand-up working desk from PrintSafari to improve my work posture and overall efficiency.
