16 and been diagnosed with lupus

My son was diagnosed with lupus last year December. I feel so sorry for him he’s suffering with a lot of pain in fingers.

I never knew that at the age of 16 you could get lupus. I was 38 when I was diagnosed.

I was 15 when I was diagnosed with lupus and RA.

Sorry to hear that he is suffering at the moment. Is he on any medication currently to try and help with the pain?

I was 16 when I got my diagnosis. It was scary but I like to think the younger you are the stronger your body is. Hopefully they will be be to figure out which meds are best for him and he will start feeling better.

I’m so very sorry to hear of your son’s diagnosis djsema. It’s got to be one of the hardest things ever for a mother to see her child suffer but the main thing is that he has you to support him. I hope that he has good doctors too who will give him the right treatment to alleviate his symptoms. My daughter is now 22 and has been suffering with what we now realise are lupus symptoms since she was very young. Unfortunately, we don’t have a diagnosis because blood tests are negative now and when she had suspicious blood test results 7 years ago, they were never investigated. I just pray that research and science will advance in this regard so that lupus and other autoimmune diseases will be more understood and better treated.
