Belimumab (Benlysta) has been approved for the treatment of SLE by NICE

Hi everyone,

We are pleased to report that, following their recent appraisal, NICE has recommended belimumab (Benlysta) as an option to be added to standard therapy for some lupus patients.

A change to the eligibility criteria should result in more people with severe and refractory SLE being able to access this treatment through the NHS.

This is great news. I've been on Belimumab for the last 12 months and honestly say it's the best type of treatment for me and has kept my condition well under control.
