Great British bake off

I’m a novice baker having started last year when Covid caused redundancy, hence early retirement.

Wrist pain is prohibitive and I can’t stand for long due to a leg injury so I often follow kids recipes as easier and shorter. This apple sponge with blackberry crumble top is a bit pink inside but tasted yummy so I’m proudly showing off my new found skill 😉

Looks delicious 😋 Home baking never tastes as good for me as I’m coeliac. Gluten free flour isn’t as nice 😞 Xx

Do you watch masterchef, the recent series featured lots of gluten free dishes they judged better than regular flour?

No, I don’t watch Masterchef. Do watch Bake Off and there has been some gluten free baking on there but not a lot. Xx

Maybe we could open a tin of ambrosia between us? (Other custards are available) 😋😹🌈😽😽xx

in reply to Krazykat26

Hope you’ve got one of those tin openers for arthritic hands as tins are hard for me, cartons I can do. Just love custard 😃

It looks lush. Baking helps me so much. Do you have a perching stool? If not contact your OT. Mine helped so much before my knees became bad and I could not use it. There are all sorts of equipment to make things easier for you in the kitchen too. It becomes addictive. Happy Baking xxx

in reply to CecilyParsley

Thanks for the tip, both knees also bad with RA, but I manage in 20 minute stints 😜

That looks like the kind of pudding i like.I found a recipie a couple of weeks ago, was looking for somthing quick and basic to make with my grandson. Every one loved it.

Its called Australian jam rolly polly. No steaming, bake in oven. Look it up, its very nice.
