SLE & Covid

Morning,

I’m double vaccinated and got my positive covid result this morning. I have been floored since Thursday. Swinging temp, tonsillitis, cough, plus lupus in overdrive: oral sores cover entire roof of mouth and palate, rash extra red and fiery, swelling / facial oedema on top form 😫 and I won’t mention the excruciating pain.

Exhausted

Love

Get well soon - one hates to think how you would be NOT double jabbed!

in reply to PMRpro

My 85 year old Dad double jabbed caught Covid in hospital while being treated for sepsis following pneumonia after a biopsy that revealed blood cancer. Doctors said without that double vaccination he would not be coming home. He’s still got a few of his nine lives left 🐈‍⬛

So sorry to hear, hope you recover quickly. This NHS link has some good advice including tips to help breathingnhs.uk/conditions/coronavir...

Don't be afraid to ask for your own medical teams input too.

Wishing you a speedy recovery, sending healing vibes & gentle hugs

Green tomatoes I’m so sorry. Plz reach out to forum and folks in your life to get through it. Minute by minute. My son, his wife and baby all got Covid and they were Vaccinated as well. My son has high ANA

Which breaks my heart. We just pass it on. I’m rooting for you to be kind to yourself and kick the butt out of this thing. Lately I’ve been drinking quarts of water daily with a product here in US for babies to buildup electrolytes called pedialyte. I add half cup to each iced quart of water. It helps

Me. I got over this recent flare better and faster and I realize now I do not hydrate enough when flaring. Sending big hugs. Titters.

Soooooooo sorry Gt. 😊🌿🌸🦋I prayed for you hun. Hope you fully recover from this soon.

I use chicken broth to help aid my illnesses and flares.

Breathing in the broth vapors aids the sinuses & airways. Drinking the broth hydrates and helps naturally boost healing from illnesses…couldn’t hurt to use with covid too.

Sending you gentle gentle hugs 🤗 healing ❤️‍🩹 thoughts and prayers 🙏 and love 💗

EJ 😊🤗♥️🥰🙏🕊🌿🌸🦋🤝

So sorry to hear you have COVID-19. I hope you will get well soon and that the pain eases really quickly. It’s miserable that you have Covid but must be frightening and exhausting with Lupus too. As my Gran always used so say “there, but for the grace of God, go I”. Reminds us all that this cruel virus has not gone, as half of the U.K. seems to think. My thoughts are with you. Take care. ❤️🦋🦋🦋🦋

Get well soon Greentomatoes! ❤️

Wishing you a rapid recovery. Unfortunately being double jabbed you still get covid but the vaccine generally prevents a more serious episode. Difficult for you to tell what is covid and what is the flare. Certainly worth treating both so perhaps get in touch with your Rheumatologist. Hope you are getting lots of love and care.

Even being double jabbed gives less than 100% protection against severe illness. It has so far given 100% protection against death. No vaccine gives 100% protection - they can only provide the body with a head start on the virus should it meet it. That is why it is still important for immunosuppressed persons to continue with non-pharmaceutical protective measures such as distancing and mask-wearing.

Oh so feel for you Greentomatoes you must be feeling exhausted and horrible from it all. Mouth sores are just awful and with everything else as well it must be awful for you. We’re all here for you to reach out to, and as others have said, if not already definitely contact your Rheumy. Have you tried scrambled eggs? I’ve always found these the best thing to eat with mouth sores. Take care of yourself and do hope you start to feel better soon, sending hugs 🤗🤗

Hi Greentomatoes, So sorry that you feel so unwell, have you been seen by a doctor? Unfortunately I (due to my daughter coming back to live with us) contracted Covid that transpired to Covid pneumonia 😟resulting in a week or so in ICU then on to the Covid ward before being sent home. I had much the same symptoms as you, also very chesty and breathless. My husband phoned out if hours for advice, after speaking with both of us, they sent an ambulance. They said we should have phoned way before we did. Be very careful, if you don’t feel any better soon please phone the doctor or an ambulance and tell them you are immune compromised with a positive Covid test. Hope you feel better soon ❤️‍🩹 Rest, drink lots of fluids and take what pain meds you can. If no better phone Doctor don’t hold back! Take care 🥰 This comes with huge get well wishes ❤️🥰❤️🥰 Ps. I was double vaccinated!
