I've just had another blood test and noticed that my white blood count went up a week after my first covid jab but has dropped significantly after my second. platelets are ok but my INR has also dropped. Not sure if this is good or bad. has anyone got any thoughts on this?

white blood count and covid vaccine
My INR went up after my second vaccine so likely correlation not causation . The main concern with Vitt (vaccine induced thrombocytopenia and thrombosis) is low platelets seen within two weeks of vaccination and yours seem to be fine.
Honestly, when I was in the icu they tested my CBC daily and my white and red cell counts went up and down from one day to the next. Fluctuations are normal.
Hi Roarah, You seem to be very knowledgeable about blood work. I have a few questions. I am anemic and as long as it is at a stable level, the doctors are not concerned. Then, when it dropped a bit, the iron was tested and realized that my iron was extremely low. So I took iron pills until it went back up to the previous still low level. Then was just told to take a multivitamin with iron. So I am assuming that being anemic is not a concern as long as it is stable anemia? I am also B-12 deficient and get shots every month.
The other question is my white count. For the longest time, It was high which did not concern my GP and I figured it was probably caused from the prednisone I take. Now every time I have blood work, it is dropping. It is getting close to being too low. I know the doctors only look to see if it is out of range, but to me it seems strange that it is dropping substantially and consistently. Any thoughts?
I am also always puzzled that doctors do not look at the graph of past results and see changes whether out of range or not. The standard ranges are just set for some sort of guidelines like the temperature. They should look at the individual patient's baseline, in my opinion, especially when the patient has autoimmune and other multiple issues.
Thank you for any insight.
Healing hugs.
I was anaemic for nearly two years despite various doctors requiring bloods, none of them picked up on my low count. It wasn't until I started getting access to my own results that I found out and got tablets for it. My renal doc told me that inflammation can lower your red blood count and as lupus etc cause inflammation we may be more at risk of anaemia.
I'm on monthly bloods and have had mine done either side of my second vaccine in april.there were no changes to my bloods at all.i reacted to my second vaccine which my kidney specialist was delighted to hear. Xx
