Hi, just wondering if anyone else has had problems with their check up appointments? Waited 18 months and consultant didn't ring! Now trying to find out when someone will actually see /ring me. I have had no health checks in over a year and I am struggling. I have emailed my nurse, consultant secretary and spoken to GP. Heard nothing. My breathing is still a huge issue and muscle weakness still a huge problem.

I don't want to make complaints and I know we are in the middle of a pandemic but how can I get seen🤔😕

You sound like me, I just wrote a post, as I feel guilty for reminding neuro I’m still here 🤷‍♀️ It’s very hard isn’t it 🤷‍♀️

No problems had checks up march and oct via telephone or video link with rheumatology, chest and kidney specialist.sometimes you've got to shout to ge heard have you tried PALS x

I don't want to make a complaint I know they are all pushed at the moment. Go is writing. I think with Christmas next week I will need to wait until after Christmas now

I think you must keep on to your rheumatologist for an appointment and get GP to chase it for you too as you’ve waited so long it’s ridiculous .

Spoken to my specialist nurse, consultant secretary and my GP. I think I will have to wait until after Christmas now 🤔

Keep on to your consultant secretary I was in same situation a couple of years ago and ended up that I had to be referred again.

MissusTee I have rung and spoken to the secretary and they know the consultant missed my appointment. Said she would speak to the consultant. Now 3 weeks have heard nothing. I will ring secretary again but I have a feeling it really won't make any difference.🤔

In that case I would refer it to PALS, they might be able to get on the case for you.

Hi Muff20,

I am sorry to hear you have not heard back from your medical team. I would advise you to contact your consultant's secretary again and see if there are any upcoming cancellations that you could possibly fill. It is also worth asking if you can be added to cancellation list, if any cancellations are made, they can be offered to you.

Can you please send details of where you live to Paul_Howard who can forward this to RAIRDA who have a representative attending weekly MSK COVID meetings which involve policymakers that are helping to shape the response to the virus. If we become aware of significant problems (patients not being able to access healthcare) in a specific area we may be able to help get them addressed.

I am so sorry Muff, you have been neglected. Your health and welfare is just as important as anyone else. Most of us here have had telephone appointments at least. Please call the Consultants secretary again and insist on a consultation please. You should not have to struggle on alone whatever is going on. You matter. Good luck xx

Thank you. My GP was going to contact my consultant and with Christmas next week not sure anything will happen until new year. But I will contact the Hospital again.
