I buy an annual pre payment card. I am sure you must know about them. £104 per year or you can buy a monthly one. Most chemists would tell you that.
Listen, as a 42. Year person who was labeled with this disease. I became a Zen Buddhist. I first stopped. My plaquinil and the methotrexate ( I went bald!) I begun taking Benedryl and antinausea meds for pain because our orange ******* said all narcotics are bad, even for people with long and critical diseases! I stopped using the word lupus to define myself. I'm not lupus, lupus is just a frequent visitor. I take melanin to sleep and I listen to khz frequency healing sounds on YouTube as well as meditate. The only medicine I really cannot stop is my seizure meds and the Benedryl..my allergies are. Deadly!! So, meditate learn about healing vibrations and even listen to more music! The happier you are the better you feel!! Lots of green tea and even chi, the spices such as cinnamon turmeric. And cayanne ease pain. Pain is good it let's you know you my friend are still alive!
Hi The_Guru1 .
It is interesting to hear about your experiences and techniques that you have personally found helpful for managing your health. It is important that we are clear not to advise anyone to stop their treatment without discussing it with their doctor. Lupus varies a lot in presentation and severity and many people would not be able to safely stop their immunosuppressant medications.
We also advise people to discuss any supplements, complementary therapies or radical changes to diet with their consultant first. This is important to ensure that they are aware of any potential adverse effects or interactions with other treatments.
Lonely21, you mention APS please talk to a doctor before trying cinnamon or turmeric, they can be contraindicative if you are presently on blood thinners.
I am sorry about your financial worries and I hope you do find assistance if your coverage is changed during the exit. Good luck!
Hi, as others have said you can order a prescription prepayment card which does save a little. You may also be entitled to a top up from universal credit. Try the turn2us calculator. Totally get where you are coming from, I’m working part time with RA & Lupus and the future is scary for us x
Yes a pre payment certificate is about what £10 a month which u can pay by direct debit so u dont even really notice it so dont have to pay it all at once. As I too would end up paying about £200 a month on my meds!
