In the last few days my right eye is sore. The pain goes from my eye to the side of my head and ear. The pain can wake me up at night. I called my eye Dr at the hospital and they will see me on Tuesday. Last time I saw her my visual field sight just on my right eye has got worse. I have failed the visual field test. I would like to ask for a top ct scan on my head. Would I be rude if I ask for it? Has anyone else had the same problem? Xx

Worried about my eye pain
Following. I have constant pain on the right side of my head that also affects my right eye. Docs just shrug when I tell them (and they've never offered me a scan). I don't know what it is, but it seems connected to a sore muscle in my shoulder. I've had it on and off since I had concussion (which seemed to set of my major flare).
I was thinking of trying a chiropractor. But honestly, I seem to have a list of specialists I need to consult (and pay for), and have so little time/money.
Let me know how you get on.
Two months ago I went to see an eye Dr because the opticians referred me as he saw a white shadow around the optic nerve. The eye Dr did a small scan or picture and she thinks that is my blood vessels that is leaking or broken. But they need to do more test to be sure. 😥

I was diagnosed with Uveitis in 2011. In 2012 I developed a rash over my upper body, and a biopsy and blood tests indicated I had SCLE. My ophthalmologist linked the two and my eye condion has been treated successfully since (the rash was treated with a steroid cream at the time and has never reappeared).
Uveitis is caused by leaking blood vessels (in my case at the back of the eye, but can occur at the front or middle). If left untreated it can lead to loss of sight so please chase up a follow up appointment with ophthalmology and get photos and scans done to check leaking blood vessels, and get medication to control the leaking vessels.
I have an appointment on Tuesday xx fingers crossed
Yes sorry I realised after i replied that you had said this in your post!
Best wishes
Hi Tulipano,
How did your appointment go?
Around a third of lupus patients have some sort of eye related matter. We published a factsheet on ‘LUPUS: The Mouth, Nose and Eyes’ which I hope will be of help to you: lupusuk.org.uk/wp-content/u...
