I really don’t have advice on achalasia other than take what it on offer from the medics.
My problems with it have improved but I still have flares where food or medication is unable to reach my stomach. It’s gross, but I find sipping on fizzy water helps me to regurgitate (and wish medication didn’t taste as bad)
So far, anything I can’t chew for long enough, or when I forget to eat very slowly triggers the problem. Certain foods are impossible for me. My diet is limited and I’m unable to gain weight.
I googled Helminths briefly and wished I hadn’t! I might have looked at the wrong thing, but if anyone has tried this, please let me know how it went. I’m not volunteering.
I scrolled past your post as I was not familiar with the term
But in relation to problems swallowing and regurgitation, I do experience this.
More recently I have found more of an issue if I eat wheat containing products.
There are a vast number of foods that fit into this category and it's quite hard to exclude everything. Especially if wheat has previously been eaten widely.
I thought I may have had an issue with carbs in general but it seems that wheat in particular is my suspect number one now.
As an aside. I have found mucus levels in general have been reduced by avoiding wheat. This has been useful to me in the present cold and flu season, as most of these infections include a build up of mucus
Less mucus, more easily controlled colds. In my case recently anyway. But we are not yet halfway through this season so fingers crossed.
It is a worm (non human) therapy. The body fights this and alleviates the symptoms of lupus. Some people take hook worms but I do not fancy this. The worms do not grow into adulthood and pass through the body. It sounds awful but then leeches are used to clean infections very successfully. I will try in the new year and see how I get on. There is a forum that you can join.
