Had to recently stop hydroxychloroquine due to possible ete problems and I'm on mycophenolate but need something else in combination as this doesn't seem to be controlling my condition enough.

Saw rheum and asked if I could have a low dose of methotrexate too as main prob is joint pain but he ummed and ahhed as he said it's not a usual combination in lupus treatment.

Anyone have any ideas, what are u guys on??

Cant have azathioprine as messed my liver up.

Thanks

What dose of Mycophenolate are you taking - and for how long? It is a much stronger drug than Hydroxychloroquine - so it should do the job. Dose can be bumped up quite high too. If it’s not working, maybe you need a higher dose?

I'm on 4 tablets a day of MMF I was on 5 a day but twice it dropped my immune system too low so 4 is the max dose I can take.

I'm already on steroids daily have been for about 10 yrs on a maintenance dose of 5mgs daily and increased to 20mgs for a flare. At the mo I'm coming down and am on 15 daily but still having joint pain waking ing the night too despite my 30mgs zomorph twice a day!
