New Rheumatologist tomorrow

Will be seeing a Rheumatologist tomorrow and driving about 3 hours one way. Nervous and excited and hopeful that she wont blow me off.

I honestly just want to figure out/ rule out whether this stuff going on with my body is another autoimmune and if so which one etc.

New primary physician ordered x-rays of my neck and lower back and I have mild degeneration in my c5-6 and some endplate spurs growing. So it sounds like osteoarthritis. I am wondering if this is causing my nerve pain. She wants to refer me to a neurologist for the EMG. And eventually an MRI. I have set the appt with Neurologist but am a bit unsure as the last neurologist was an arrogant jerk. Hopeful for more answers soon.

Haven’t talked to her yet but nothing on platelets etc. even though its been two years of tracking these.

I would write down all your symptoms, questions and concerns, as these appointments can go south fast. Be honest, and tell the rheumy all of this. Sounds like something else is possibly blooming. I have degenerative disc diseases too, and they can be tricky . This condition causes nerve pain in other places of the body that you might not be aware of so does lupus. Remember, you are your own best advocate, be pro active with your symptoms. EMG's are quite effective in targeted possible conditions, so I hope you can get one soon. I wish you all the best, Stay strong. Let us know how things pan out. sending peace, blessings. thestorm😌😌

Thank you for your comforting words. I very much appreciate it. Do you see a neurologist for your nerve pain?

The meeting didn’t go well yesterday, she was rude and didn’t care much for my symptoms (blamed my ANA on my thyroid antibodies and said platelets are normal). Anything else wasn't her department. So I think I will be waiting on the other results and to further clarify somethings. Wont be going back to her again. I dont agree with her reasoning as she only brushed through my file in the meeting. Everyone will have their own opinions I guess.
