Just joined here, have lupus for a few years and it seemed to calm down for about a year. Then, all heck broke out when I turned 57. My symptoms are now all in full flair up, new to me is how bad the damp or humid weather effect my breathing, pain and fatigue. To very debilitating degrees. The warmer weather has not hit us yet as I live in the north east. Many people do not seem to understand these symptoms of lupus, as I found when I had to go to the emergency room one sad day. I live in a rural area, so there are not many health care choices. Has anyone had or have these problems, if so you support would mean the world to me.

Humidity and the wrath of lupu
While living with Lupus, I have definitely discovered that the weather affects my Lupus flares.
The trick is, trying to figure out how to lessen the effects of the changes in the weather on my body.
I have discussed this with my rheumatologist, and she said yes the changes in the barometric pressure will definitely affect the joints and the fluids – synovial fluid's, and the best thing to do maybe is to take a warm bath to balance the barometric pressure.
Storms coming in, quick changes in the weather from hot to cold or cold to hot.
They are starting to take us more seriously, and there are a few articles that can possibly help us. But being prepared when we know the changes in the weather are going to happen, I found is the best thing to eliminate or lessen the flare.
