Hello everyone

Bit confused by something that happened today and I wondered if anyone had experienced anything like this before.

I have tried to stay out the sun today as I am photosensitive so except for the trips to put washing out I’ve been inside.

I went to sit to talk to my mother outside for one moment and I just all of a sudden went dizzy. But room spinning dizzy....

my husband came to try help me up which walking was difficult, I managed to make it inside before been sick several times. Am now exhausted pale and cold sweats.

Bit confused what’s happened as nothing like this has happened before any advise would be great

Thank you all x

Hi Sarah, it could be a number of things but if you’re in the UK I think i would ring nhs 111 for advice as it’s a bank holiday. I had something similar and had taken the wrong meds by mistake but realised. Hope you feel better but please don’t leave it x

I accidentally took amitriptilyne which should be taken at night. Thinking it was something else and I wasn’t paying attention. Have been more careful since and it hasn’t happened again. Please get checked out though x

I’d agree and say ring NHS direct for advice. It could be anything from food poisoning, dehydration, sun reaction, migraine or drug reaction. Hope you feel better soon x

Thank you for your replies.

I have literally done the same as you rachelD1972, my candersartan tablets were reduced to once a day due feeling light headed. But with all my medication I have completely forgotten and put them back up to twice a day!! My doctor thinks with the heat as well it has made my blood pressure really drop!!

So I am now on a week break of candersartan and monitor my blood pressure.

"POTS Disease" is experienced in my family, one who has another autoimmune disease, as Lupus.

If you read the information above, it does cause lightheadedness, dizziness, faintness....

Treatments are making sure that you are staying tremendously hydrated, correct salt content in your body, not getting up and down too quickly because of the blood flow to your heart will cause you to be dizzy and faint.

Not easily diagnosed either, but when you know you have it and you're aware of it it's easier for you to take care of yourself.

This is just one idea to run past your rheumatologist or your GP and they can test you to see if you have POTS.

Thank you for your reply, after a few days of monitoring my blood pressure and not feeling any better I got an appointment with my gp.

My blood pressure was getting higher but it was in the normal range to begin with.

My gp got me to lay down and stand up while monitoring my blood pressure (which I think is a test for pots??) no change blood pressure stayed the same.

He then asked me to follow his finger with my eyes....... I just could not follow his finger what so ever it was so weird my eyes just could not focus what so ever. Then bang another dizzy spell he said I have labyrinthitis. Which I’ve been suffering one sinus infection after another recently he said it was due to that.

He’s given me some tablets to help with the nausea but said it should get better on its own.

Fingers crossed it will hurry up and get better 🤞
