GI bleed ,?Dieuiafoy lesion clipped.

I have SLE,RA, Raynauds etc. In November I had a GI bleed and was discovered to have a possible ?dieuiafoy lesion , 9 clips were used to stem the bleeding via a gastroscopy. I would be very interested to hear if anyone else has had a similar problem who also have SLE.I am due to have repeat gastroscopy later this month to check all clips have disappeared and there is no further bleeding.

I had quite a severe GI bleed last year and was clipped. Not as many clips as you though. The repeat gastrocopy is to check all is ok now.

Thank you. Hope you are fully recovered from that particular issue. Was your bleed thought to be connected to autoimmune issues or medication prescribed for you.

I haven't had any more severe bleeds. I was on warfarin at the time which may have exacerbated the situation. But my team have now put an absolute stop on me being on any anti coagulant unless I have a proven clotting event.

Felt like I was walking a tightrope between perhaps increasing the likelihood of a clot, but consultants felt that staying on anti coagulation was too much of a risk.

I can't really remember the detail but i think I had a bleeding ulcer or leision or something like that.

I do have scleroderma which my team have said can lead to problems. But also the drugs we are often prescribed can cause their own set of issues. There's a lot of grey areas and uncertainties as to what are the actual overriding factors.

My recent expected follow up appointment with my team was cancelled and the date changed, so still waiting for my teams input on what they make of it all after my repeat endoscopy.
