Does sun sensitivity apply to all lupus sufferers?

Has anyone found acupuncture to be of any help? I’m going for my first session tomorrow.

Would appreciate any feedback - thanks

Hi Mimma,

Many people with lupus experience a flare of their symptoms when exposed to sunlight but this symptom does not affect all lupus patients. Lupus presents differently in everybody, therefore, no two people will share the exact same experience.

Hi Mimma.

When I spend too much time in the sun I get fatigue and a headache and feel generally unwell. I don't suffer from lupus-related rashes from the sun.

I have tried acupuncture to treat my lupus pain (muscle and joint pain) but unfortunately it did not work for me. Some people have had some success with it. Good luck!

Had my first acupuncture treatment yesterday. Will try two more sessions to see if it improves the muscle and joint pain.

Thanks for letting me know about your experience with sunshine. I don’t think I am affected but I do wear a hat and try to keep out of direct sunlight.
