Naproxen

Has anyone else had problems obtaining Naproxen. I've been told that there is a country wide shortage. What are the alternatives.

Yes I went to get mine this morning they couldn’t give me 500mg tabs and 250’s are also running low. Naproxen is just ibuprofen so you could get over the counter 200’s and split the 3rd one in half if you have run out.

Just to ensure clarity - naproxen and ibuprofen are both non-steroidal anti- inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs), but they are not the same drug. They have somewhat different recommended doses and dose frequencies. If you have to switch from naproxen to ibuprofen, you should ask a pharmacist or doctor for equivalent dose regimens of each (or just do a web search for equivalent doses).

Yes I have too. Pharmacy 2u just cancelled my order. Ibuprofen it is!

Hi I was on Naproxen and each time it was a different brand which got me wondering about a shortage. But then it aggravated my stomach even with Omeprazole so I've now been put on 7.5mg of Meloxicam once a day x

Thank you Bud it looks like that can be used as a short term solution. My doctor has now put me on ibufren till naproxen is available again
