Hi

I was initially diagnosed & treated at UCLH...I found their rheumatology department excellent....although the consultant Rheumy I saw has now retired the dept still has a good reputation.
I don't know about their rheumatology dept but i found their neurology and autonomic departments disgraceful. Mainly due to the so called specialists in these departnents. My treatment was awful.
Hi, I am also having a very difficult expetirnce as have medical probs which encompass more than one area. Can you tell me what kind of problems you had there?
Hi IAmAnElf
Which hospital are you transferring from? The problem with UCLH is that no matter who you are referred to, it is unlikely that you will see them. Forget the 18 wk rule for treatment and any other recommendation on how patients should be treated. That said, someone else recommended the Rheumatology Dept so perhaps that is better than done of the others. I had to go privately to see the person I was referred to though.
You are highly unlikely to see the person you are referred to. They may not even give you an appointment for the relevant clinic. Don't expect too much and in the end perhaps you will regret moving?
Good liuck! There are a lot of big names at UCLH but you will find that they rarely go there and are mainly private. One of the consultants I am referred to only goes there around 3-4 times a year. I am not sure how you would get to see him but I have been told that I won't.
That's been my impression.
So I was not the only one, who felt that way.
I have been to one department at UCLH.
QUITE RUBBISH.
You have been warned........
I was waiting for 18mths for colorectal surgery to then be told I was never on the waiting list at all! The management k new this 9 mths earlier but did not tell me. Meanwhile, I was admitted every few mths for IV drugs whilst waiting on the non existent list!
