had a great response from prednisokone first time around. this time nothing like the last time. fatigue, aching. bloody nightmare. started hydroxy 3 weeks ago. I know hydroxy take up to 3 months or more to work but I really thought being on another course of steroids would help in the meantime. not happening. feeling very frustrated as I don't feel like doing much at all. everything is an effort and hard work. not due to see rheumatologist until next February now. hydroxy tablets have a nasty taste. they are called Quinoric which I have heard are a cheap type of hydroxy. any feedback would be appreciated. my g.p. said all types of hydroxy have the same strength etc. I have had symptoms of I.b.s. occasionally since I have been on them.

I do too but I still manage to get a horrible taste from Quinoric. I hear a lot of people try and avoid that brand. x

Hi Mandypandy1969 ,

Your GP is correct that all brands of hydroxychloroquine have the same strength. They all contain the same amount of the active ingredient (hydroxychloroquine sulphate). It is true that some people with lupus find that they experience adverse reactions with certain brands and not others. You can read more about this at lupusuk.org.uk/hydroxychlor...
