Curious as to whether there is any commonality of blood type and lupus (or autoimminue disorders in general). My blood type is O negative.

Thank you to everyone who responded. In my very unscientific poll, I got pretty much butkus! Lol- Just kidding.

I thought I was onto something with my rough theory that O negatives were more susceptible to auto immune conditions given that they are unable to receive from any other blood type, but that doesn't seem to hold true.

I do note, however, that out of 15 people (14 responders, plus me) only one is AB. Hmmmmm....

Hi NeseVee ,

I'm afraid this could well be because AB is the rarest blood type, making up approximately 4% of the population.
