Hi congrats 😀

I've no kids myself but you probably do need to see your Rheumatologist especially if you're on meds for MCTD ?

Congratulations! Yes your GP should be informing your rheummy as its kind of a multi speicalist team that ensure you and baby are healthy. Your rheummy then usually refers you to a high risk obstetrician with knowledge of lupus pregnancies. For me I was scanned almost weekly. I have APS so clotting was an issue for me also, so I injected clexane twice a day. Its important your lupus meds are adjusted and monitiored to keep your lupus in check throughout too. Pregnancy can be risky and challenging with lupus but with close monitoring and care it can be very straight forward. I wish you all the best for a healthy pregnancy.

Hi irishgirl13 ,

It is important that you let your rheumatologist know that you are pregnant so that they can do any necessary tests and possibly adjust your treatment. Are you on any medication for your MCTD at the moment?

Your may find our booklet, 'LUPUS: A Guide to Pregnancy' helpful. You can read/download it at lupusuk.org.uk/wp-content/u... or if you would like a physical copy posted to you, please just send me a private message or email paul@lupusuk.org.uk with your name and address.

Hi, due to the fact that your pregnant , doctors in general won't treat you until baby is born. If they do, it would be something you can buy over the counter. Congrats on the new baby, camie

Yes do let your doctor know, any doctor you see for any reason. I have three grown adults and one grandchild. Welcome to motherhood.
