Saw a rheumy for the first time today.
Seemed very competent and thorough.
Says very likely Lupus and Sjogrens, with Reynaud's (and looking into EM, had not dealt with it before, but shown her pics of flares as well as flare with Reynaud's).
Had multiple blood tests run again today. Have 'full body bone scan' being done in about two weeks, as well as xrays of hands, legs and feet.
Was very insistent on seeing me within two weeks, does not want it to wait any longer (had asked about a week after, as all others in about a week and a half, just for finance reasons, she requested no, wanted it done asap, had an appt made for me, regardless of the no appts really available at all.)
So moving forward, a heck of a lot faster than I'd anticipated, but I'm so glad to be finally getting somewhere (!!!).
Bit funny, though, did the strip of paper on the eye, to check moisture level (some, but reduced), but the end of the strip broke off. She's never had that happen before, seemed horrified, tried to flush it out to no avail. Was sent to eye clinic, bloke spent almost 30 minutes with all his flash machines to find the little bit of filter paper, drops, dyes, etc. - still bothering my eye but he couldn't see it at all. All in all, 1.5 hours later, Went back to rheumy, she had a quick look, still couldn't see anything either, conceded with the eye doc that it must have come out, just scratched a bit. Finished consult, was at the front desk while they set up other appts, and eye was still bugging me, rubbed it a few times - and there it was! The little bit of paper, on my finger, and didn't the receptionist laugh. What do you do, lol, got it out the old fashioned way - but how the eye doc missed it, ??
But will see how we go, so glad I got this doc, though, I think, wants to help me get answers, help me get more pointed, directed, treatment options.
