Hi, i am currently having my review for my upcoming licensure exam. I have been diagnosed with SLE when i was still 18, and i survived my degree with mild symptoms only (fatigue, mild infections, memory loss), praise God. However preparing for licensure exams have different stress level, and i'm afraid that my symptoms will flare up. May i asked for some advise? Thanks 😊

I'd be upping all my self-help techniques (meditation, pacing activity, walks outside etc) and I'd be thinking about increasing my daily dose of pred (in my case: probably to 10mg for the last week of prep, and then 7.5mg the week of exams...and tapering back down to my standard therapeutic daily dose of 5mg within another 2 weeks)

Wishing you success!

Hi Kay_elyn ,

Good luck with your exams! We have a blog article about stress management and relaxation which you may find helpful - lupusuk.org.uk/stress-manag...

Is your consultant aware of your upcoming stressful period? I know that some consultant's prescribe a short increase in steroids for some lupus patients during exam periods to help them manage.

Thanks πŸ˜€ gonna read it.

Actually i don't really go to my consultant frequently, since she told me to go there only if i feel something abnormal or my lab results are unusual. I am still on the stage where my condition can still be managed with vit & min😊. Though i have a friend who's a physician already, and she helps me a lot.
