Tawannda why are you worrying? Just ask your GP if they are the same or different. If they are different then in what way? Maybe the new one your on is better than the Lyrica.

I have suffered from Fibryalgia and Chronic Fatigue for 21yrs and was finally prescribed 75mg of Lyrica twice a day and the only thing left are the pressure points. I'm pretty much pain free now.

They are just a different brand, same drug just made by somebody else. All drugs are made by all different companies but are the same drug if the drug has the same name and dose.

I live in the US and here, Zentiva manufacturers my hydroxycloriquine. I don't know if that's any help but it seems to be good quality and works well for me. Hugs, Nan

Manythanks Nan---' yes have realised it is a Generic to Lyrica, I think it is cheaper for Dr's Surgerys to prescribe......Hence the change, I think Lyrica/Pfizer were trying to block the patent..............Hugs Back. From Scotland. X

Yes, it is all about money! Pharmacies will dispense the cheapest medicine which is not always in our best interests. All Pregabalin manufacturers will put in the same amount of the drug but there can be differences in the materials they use to present it. It is interesting to look at the ingredients. They can be very different and can affect the way the medication is absorbed.

There is something legal which has been going on for a while with Pfizer and other drug companies and I was under the impression that only Lyrica Pregabalin could be prescribed for neuropathic pain. Of course, they may have sorted this now though I am not sure. These things can go on for years. I tried to find out from Pfizer as I was getting Pregabalin for my neuropathic pain at that time and was given a cheaper alternative by the pharmacy but got a very rudish reply!!

Prescribed inhaler for bronchial asthma and was given the genetic by Teva. I don't do well with Teva even though the pharmacists and docs said"same". Not same. Called Glaxo, the inventors of Ventolin which I like. Talked to chemist who stated yes, they are except for the HFA delivery system. It is the delivery system which probably gets me. Teva is cheaper. Stick to your guns. I'm glad I did.
