Hydroxy Works. I'm Chuffed!

I hope I'm safe in saying this ......but after 7 months on hydroxy, I'm feeling better than I have in nearly three years. I had been counting the days til the 6 months my rheumy said it would take until a noticed a difference, no change, and I was so disappointed. It took a long time to recover from a virus that simply wouldn't leave me alone, and I was really down in the dumps.

For the last couple of weeks I've been feeling better (for me). Able to do small things I just couldn't before, a bit more energy, able to eat more .....It's hard to explain to others, because they equate feeling better to zapping around as in years past.

However, I feel more optimistic, my son told me he had been very scared that there was no improvement, and, well, there are bad days, I do have a lot of pain to be controlled still, but on the whole I'd just have to say that hydroxy is making a difference. Yayy!

So glad for you!

Just explain to others you got some of your life quality back.

If you tell them you feel better they think you feel like them, like healthy people, and they will expect things. Besides it will make their believe stronger that you do not only look healthy but you are!

Good to hear! I have been on Plaquenil for three months and have had great improvement. I take 400mg a day and 1 x anti-histimine. I had splints on both my arms, painful feet, knee, neck and shoulders. But the Hydroxy has made a huge difference - splint free. Good to hear some have taken longer than three months to get the full benefits. I have breakthrough pain but I suspect this is from doing to much. Just need to slow down and get diet better - a work in progress!! THANKS to everyone for all your valuable comments.

Hi Lupiknits

I'm quite new on here and I've just been diagnosed with Lupus after seeing a rheumatologist on Monday I'm now just waiting to start Hydroxy, I know it takes a while to kick in so your post has given me hope, I'm so pleased it's starting to work for you, may it continue to help you improve more each day.

Thanks to all. I do hope those new to hydroxy take heart. I stuck it out (often thinking this is not going work) but was encouraged by those who said it did, which is why I put my tuppeny worth in.

Best of all was speaking to number one son last night. He confessed he thought it wasn't working, but is very relieved. He's a good lad xxxd

Good for you for persevering. It took about 9 months for the hydroxy to kick in for me but it has been miraculous. My joint pain, muscle weakness and fatigue are almost completely gone. I will never stop taking it. I take 500 mg daily. The very best of luck to you👍🏻
