I think they are worried about your retinas and whether you have problems seeing, however you may want to run it by your GP.
I wouldn't worry too much.
I had a similar problem only mine appeared as a blood blister, it appeared very quickly and disappeared as quickly after a day. I mentioned it to my GP and optician but both said without seeing it it was difficult to comment. My optician asked if it happened again , if possible could I go and see her so she could take a look. I didn't think to take a photograph, good idea. Like you I'm not sure if I should be worried. I have my eyes tested regularly but struggle more and more with blurred vision.
