Yes I believe it would. At first my doctor put me on 400 mg to see if it would help get things under control. I was having a terrible time and was on 20 mg of prednisone at the time. After it started working it did help somewhat. Then when I had my appointment with my rheumatologist he actually said I was being a bit underdosed and moved me up to 500mg. It helped a lot the extra 100mg and I've noticed less hair loss as well. He said I can go up to 600 if need be. But I've done better than I have in a long time being at 500 plus my other treatments. I know the fatigue is horrible. It makes it impossible to function sometimes. I still have days that I can barely walk across the house and the brain fog you are talking about makes me feel stupid too. There are times I feel like I can't absorb any information. I hate it as I've always been a researcher and like learning new things. This disease has completely altered my life. Hope the higher dose helps you.

I would speak to your doctor first and just make sure its ok to put the dose up. I got the ok from my rheumatoligist to increase hydroxy if the fatigue was too much..but I would never do it without checking first

Hi there, as chris said i would recomend you talk with the doc, hydroxy takes about 3 months till you feel any diff, you may suggest upping the steriod to 7.5 and then drop down bk to 5 when hydroxy should fully be in your system and should be working.

I will talk to doc, just desperate to stop feeling so tired,so difficult with going to work, really struggling.

I'm glad to hear that. Each persons maximum dose depends on their body weight so reading other people's top doses here might not be safe and hydroxychloroquine in high doses can permanently damage the eye

I know how you feel, its such a struggle its a diff kind of tired with lupus fatigue, its like your constantly pushing yourself up hill with heavy weights on you, which get worse, sleep doesnt fix it either going to bed and waking feeling the same exhaustedness as before you went. Good luck at the docs

That is so true how you describe the tiredness,it's terrible feeling, body feels absolutely burnt out.

I would not play about with dosages prescribed by the doctor. Hydroxychloriquine is associated with eye toxity at high doses and is prescribed according to your ideal body weight.
