Yes sugarplum I have had many many awful facial rashes due to the sun, and sometimes it would cause me to flare. I took photos of the rashes and showed them to my rheumy who then referred me to a dermatologist. She was brilliant prescribed me very high factor sunscreen which can be worn under makeup and a completely natural moisturiser which have both worked really well. I have also had cortisone injections and found them to be a really good quick solution to awful stiffness and joint pain although the effect is usually only temporary. Hope this is of some help to you.
Hi sugar plum, I have reacted so badly to the sun in the past that my face swelled up so much that I looked like a neanderthal! I hid indoors for a week, thankfully medication controls it now. I've had several cortisone injections which have helped with pain and fatigue also.
this may be a coincidence...I burn easy anyways, cause im fair skinned...BUT, if Ive been out in the sun, my stomach bothers me after...like cramps and pain and running for the loo...It must be just a coincidence...anyone else get that from being in the sun???
