Hi smudge, the spoon theory is just a simple way of explaining to friends and family that don't get how Ill we feel whilst looking the picture of health.

You give approx 20 spoons to your fiend/family and then tell them to talk through there day, having to give up a spoon for everything they do, with you explaining at each step what it's like for you. The website is butyoudontlooksick.com

My son in law used all his spoons before he even got out the door to go to work! It made him realise how much effort everything is for my daughter and how we have to pace ourselves. He sulked he couldn't have more spoons and we said oh how we wish we could too.

It just makes people aware that while there's no physical signs, we are all different and suffer in various ways.

Thanx Chris, I'll defo be trying it with my friends & family. I know most of them do not understand how I'm feeling, especially when I tend to look well on the outside.

Happy Easter to you

I found the spoon theory very helpful too, I printed it and gave a copy to all my family as it helped explain why my energy level drops so quickly. as trying to explain in my own way caused me to ramble and they looked confused.

hugs x
