Hi, my husband has been prescribed 20mg daily of Prednisolone( 4 tablets) . Can anyone tell me whether you are supposed to take all the tablets together or split the dose up a bit? Also, can you have the flu jab when on these tablets?

Take all in one go, preferably in the morning with/after breakfast. And yes, flu jab is ok with Pred.

Hi, I have been on prednisolone continually for the last 6 years. I have always been told to take them in one go. Again, I take them after I have had breakfast rather than later in the day. I have the flu jab every year too.

I'm on these and Take them all at once in the morning (30mg), never been advised 2 split them. Not sure about the jab, had mine last night but get mine free because I'm on immunosuppression tabs, not sure this extends to steroids, best ask your doc

Yes together with food in the morning. Flu jabs are fine to have. Same info as all above really. Your husband must never stop these steroids despite any side effect he will suffer, mood swings being one of them. Only ever change the dosage under supervision of your GP or consultant as it is very dangerous to just stop.

I cannot understand why doctor didn't inform your husband when to take tablets and why it wasn't shown on pharmacy label.

Having flu injection should be o.k.

Last year I was on 60 mg which meant 13 tablets. Take all at the same day and in the morning as you can have side affects that can keep you awake. Also yes for flu jab. I had it as well as the pneumonia one.
