My blood feels on fire, I sweat profusely from the scalp to my toes. My husband says my skin is very hot even in the shade. My clothes get soaked & I want to pass out. They tested me with autoimmune but say I tested negative for lupus. I have suffered 4 yrs now. They gave me meloxicam for my joint pain and gamapentine for the body ache (I do not like the gamapentine) but I have egg-shaped lumps on my inner arms to the side of the crease of my elbows. They ordered a sonogram but no fluid was found. Please help. I am at wits end. I am not overweight, was active before this fatigue, fight to get through the work day, and love the outdoors. Menopause was ruled out - at 55 they said it's long over.
I have been to my general practician, full blood ... - LUPUS UK
I have been to my general practician, full blood work up, rheumatologist, ob/gyn, and no one knows why I cannot tolerate heat.
hmmm I sweat like crazy...especially at night. Its either a lupus thing, or post menopause thing (hormones are still adjusting)...Im 57.............On the other hand I have a friend that has always sweated like mad, even her hands.&.she has hyperhydrosis...As she has gotten older, she now has Graves disease too...
I now have lumpy arms, and Im not over weight...its like cellulite I think..(that's also caused from hormone fluctuations too)...I dunno if any of this helps, but thought I'd throw it out there...PS/my arm bone even looks like it has a lumpy appearance now too...ps/I was menopaused at 53 and a half...
I had Graves Disease when I was younger. I had excessive sweating and heat intolerance as well as complete burn out. Has your GP tested your thyroid function? Your thyroid affects the metabolism of every single cell in your body.
jo...entire life I have not been able to tolerate heat. I have night sweats where I feel like my skin is 1000 degrees. I think it might be thyroid related too. I am 51 and people say its menopause, but I don't think so. I am at the tail end. They were getting better, and have now only recently been waking me up again. Not as hot though. I have nodules on my thyroid plus low end lupus. Hope you can find answers. I would be curious to know. Feel better.
I can't tell you what is going on, I am doing a similar thing. Hives since April. HOT, blood boiling. BUT I did find that when i went to acupuncture, I was able to get rid of about 80% of this. It is time for a revisit.
I had welts, some the size of the palm of my hand. 5 doctors in was an allergist and I had to go off all meds, start back on slowly. 10 weeks later and I am still adding. Some had to be stopped completely. BUT the allergist said to not ever let any one script to me prednisone (steroids) which for FMS/Lupus, AND OTHER THINGS etc makes things worse.
The week of the steroids I was on, the dose was 40 mg a day vs the 5 mg. My labs for liver and kidney keep showing distress.
Menopause was done 10 years ago, but sun sensitivity will always remain, and even last night I feel as if I were out there all day. My upper arms were deep red and mottling. I did not do any benadryl and went to bed.
One thing I have been seeing as a point of irritation is using SALT, food products, foods that are salty, commercial prep foods, crackers, pretzels, popcorn, etc. I use Kosher salt at home, without chemical addition.

I'm 56, going through menopause 2 years ago and diagnosis skin lupus last year. I don't like the heat, but few years ago it's really bothering, I feel the sun much hotter than normal until rash appearing on my arms, nose and scarf. At first, I thought I'm going through menopause. I couldn't understand why no one gets lupus during menopause. I would stand on a cold shower for an hour and soon I get out I feel burning again.
Like legless said, maybe hormone will adjust in few years. Just hope, most lupus can control but no cure. Hope you don't get it. G luck.
