Broken ankle

been on hydroxy for just about a month now. My previously smashed ankle has started to complain bitterly this week having been fairly settled for the last 6 years! Feels like I have just had surgery and come out of plaster :( is this due to the hydroxy or just bad timing?

So sorry for you, very painful. I don't think hydroxy would cause this, but steroids do. Why was your other ankle smashed. Maybe you should be looking into having a bone density scan, and get your vit D checked. Take care.

Hi. When I am flaring my shin (which I cracked 20 yrs ago) tends to ache more. As do my feet and hands and other joints. I sense it is just inflamed connective tissue and so in your case it might be lupus inflammation more noticeable at a weak point. Never heard of anti-malarials causing such pain but why not mention it to doc or rheumy nurse to put your mind at rest, xxx

Thanks for the replies. I did call rheumy yesterday....I am new to all this! As I have bilateral avn in both hips which went undetected for a long time they are organising an urgent scan. Also calling my gp to arrange bone profile bloods.
