Help! Not sleeping long enough! What solutions do others find??

I'm afraid I'm in the same boat as you at the moment regarding sleep. However I did take mertazapine for 6 months to help me sleep and it was fab. I was having a full nights sleep. Unfortunately I had to stop it as it wouldn't mix with a new med I've stated on and I've not slept since it's got a huge amount of antihistamines in it which causes drowsiness and I would highly recommend it. Maybe try chamomile tea before bed. Suppose to calm the body. My husband, who has asthma, and I drank some Ginger tea before bed last night and slept pretty good with little congestion and breathing problems. I had to get up and pee all night though. That is part of my broken sleep. I hate it! Maybe I drank the tea too close to bedtime! Ha!

Hi. Finally I think I may have cracked it for now. The pain was waking me after 3/4 hours sleep so now I'm taking 2 paracetamol before bed and if I wake 2 more. 8 hours straight. Yes I have found some herbal teas helpful 1 hour before bed helpful in relaxing me out more. But it was the pain waking me. Hopefully sorted. Thanks for your replies. Oaktree...funny how pain wakes us up...I got a better hold on night sweats, and now my shoulder pain is so bad, It wakes me up every time I turn over. I have been having terrible times sleeping lately. Don't want to take meds. Any other suggestions out there.
