Let's get talking!

Hi all,

I don't know about you but I'm having a pretty rubbish day. I started on methotrexate last night and so far I'm too tired to move. I feel like I've been glued to the bed! I'm going to force myself to eat something so I can take my meds and then rest a bit more I think. A good film always takes my mind off the pain, even for a little while.

How are we all today? It would be lovely to meet some more of you so let's chat :)

Sending hugs to you all! Suzy x

Hi Suzy,

MTX will make you tired and therefore it is important to listen to your body and rest when necessary. Eating is very important as you need to ensure your body gets what it needs, otherwise you will have even less energy. If you are taking MTX (oral or injection?) you should be taking Folic Acid EXCEPT on the day you take the MTX.

With good wishes,

Ros

Hi Ros,

Thanks for your reply! I'm feeling exhausted today and quite nauseous and I've lost my appetite, but I'm trying to eat. I'm taking the tablet form. I'm in a whole lot of pain but I think that is my lupus acting up and wondering what the hell is going on - it did that with the mycophenalate! I took the MTX last night at 7 so I'm taking folic acid at 7 tonight.

Hope you're as well as you can be today :) Suzy x

Sorry you feel so bad. You take the meds once a week right? My friend takes it and says she does not feel well the day after. A food film and some tea sounds lovely. I feel about like you most days.

Sending hugs

Tammy

Hi Tammy :) It's lovely to hear from you. I hope you're as well as you can be today? Yeah I take them once a week and I took them on Tuesday and I'm still feeling unwell today and pretty nauseous. I'm having some tea at the moment, there's something comforting about it :) Sending hugs to you too. Suzy x

Hi Suzy how are you feeling now has the sickness disappeared? I started on Mthotrextrate approx 6 weeks ago & I felt really sick for 2 weeks then it went away. My dose has now been upped but I'm coping fine just exhausted as per. Hope you're doing ok. X

Hi QueenV,

Thanks for your kind message :) I'm doing okay so far although still very nauseous from the MTX and pretty bad bouts of vomiting for 3 days after I take it. My doctor has upped my folic acid to every day except the day I take MTX, so we'll see if that helps. Now on a low dose of steroids to try and give me some comfort from my joints. I don't plan on staying on them for long as it took me years to come off them! Which dose are you on now? I'm glad you're feeling better on them and that the sickness has subsided. The exhaustion is a killer though, it's a constant battle to get out of bed every morning. X

Hi great to hear from you. I saw my GP yesterday & I'm on 10mg of steroids which will be gradually reduced over several weeks. Where abouts do you live? I live in the North East of England. How are you feeling today. Do you manage to work? Do you have any children? Hope you don't mind all the questions?! I just wonder how other people with Lupus manage to live their lives. Hope you're having a good day.
