Hi Watermelon67 ,

Thank you for reaching out on this forum at such a difficult time for you and sorry to hear that you have no available treatment options . Referral to hospice services is often a positive experience at this stage in your disease . It can be good to make contact and build relationships so that if now or in the future you require any emotional or physical support with any symptoms you may experience they are there to support you . I am sure you will also receive information and support from this forum .

Roy Castle Lung Cancer Foundation can also provide further support via our website roycastle.org, where you will find links to our online information booklets, such as, Living with lung cancer or our Ask the nurse service on o800 358 7200 can be a useful resource for any further information or support you may require . Best wishes.

I'm sorry to hear you have no more treatment options. My mum died of SCLC she died peacefully at home. Obviously different in the states but hospices here offer great support, which is comforting. Hopefully you will get a good support package to help you emotionally and physically with whatever you need x

So sorry to hear where you're at. A friend of mine slipped away peacefully recently having suffered from cancer for some time. Another very close friend of mine is an experienced palliative care professional, and I have stage 4 so we've talked about your question a lot (albeit in the context of my own concerns). It's different for everyone I guess is the truth of it, just like with all causes of death - but there are good options for end of life care nowadays. I think that being proactive and getting these in place is your best option, as advised by your oncologist. Wishing you all the best.
