Hi All I don’t know what I expected, had 1st cycle of adjuvant Chemo VP, I didn’t make it home before the sickness hit followed by other effects, now 48hrs on still can’t tolerate any food only squash, feeling really poorly and sorry for myself, take Vino again on Friday was planning on going out on that day are the effects as bad with just vino? I don’t think I cope 😭

I am sorry to hear that your last cycle of chemo caused vomiting, it is impossible to tell how well you will tolerate chemo, this time round your team will be aware that you were very sick after the previous treatment, ask if a different anti sickness can be prescribed to combat this.

It is common for people to feel tired during chemotherapy, this is normal, and this fatigue can be very frustrating and difficult to cope with, especially for people who normally have a lot of energy. The fatigue can become worse with each cycle the hardest time may be towards the end of the course of chemotherapy. Tiredness will improve when chemotherapy is over but often it will improve gradually over a period of time. Macmillan have a booklet on dealing with fatigue, I have added the link below.
