Another 'alternative' therapy: phenothiazines (Phenergan)

2 years ago, when I was diagnosed with Stage 4 adenocarcinoma, a friend pointed me towards canceractive.com/article/us... which certainly looked interesting. As my friend pointed out, no drug company is going to undertake expensive research into the use of a cheap drug.

Has anyone here come across this treatment or tried it?

As Covid was just starting up and the medics weren't in the slightest interested, I decided not to do an unsupervised one-man trial. 2 years later (after being given 6-9 months by the medics) I'm wondering whether it might be worth while, but I'm not happy about doing anything like that without a doctor's agreement.

Any views here?

If it truly worked the manufacturer could conceivably add an inert ingredient, claim new formula, new use and jack up the price. If it really worked, it would have been used to treat cancer all along, the inventor would have won a Nobel prize.

People who work in research truly want to heal, doctors want to heal. If a cancer cure was found they would make billions of dollars selling it, far more than suppressing it. New generations of people are going to develop cancer.

If there was a secret cure, the way things leak at Parliament, Congress and any other government or big business the janitors would be driving Bentleys as hush money.

Trust your instincts. If it sounds too good to be true it probably is.

Sorry to hear you have stage 4 lung cancer, and it is understandable that you would want to be open to what other treatment may be available.

As everyone as said, it is not advisable to entertain any alternative therapy that has not had a robust clinical trial, to show not just the effect/benefit but that it is safe for the person.

We would always advise anyone to follow their oncologists recommended treatments, as there can be many scams out there and /or misleading data.

Thanks to everyone for the advice (all the same!). I was interested to see if anyone here had come across this treatment and if it had any effect. Obviously not. I won't be taking this any further.
