If this occurs are you allowed to have more sessions of Chemo/Radiotherapy?

Although it's hard to shake this feeling and thoughts, there are many for whom it's recurred who've had treatments and even treatments that weren't around the first time.... this information may help you..... also I found the book 'cancer is a word not a sentence' by Dr Rob Buckman helped stop me thinking that every symptom I had after my treatment and diagnosis must be related to the cancer.... good luck. roycastle.org/about-lung-ca...

I have had my adrenal gland and a hilar lymph node radiated twice. I was told no more for those 2 areas.

HI Beatless

I hope the link from JanetteR57 provided the information that you were looking for.

There may be other treatments available for any cancer recurrence. It can depend on a number of factors, location, type of cancer and if there is any cell mutation change or are there certain proteins present in the biopsy, which would have the potential for targeted therapies or immunotherapies.

Cancer treatments can start as 1st line treatment, the initial treatment and may progress to 2nd or 3rd line treatment.

If you would like to discuss anything further you can email ask the nurse at lungcancerhelp@roycastle.org or call our free phone nurse led helpline number on 0800 358 7200 Monday to Thursday 0900-1700 and Friday 0900-1600

Kind regards
