Hi MargaretHope you are doing ok. Sounds like there is some great news for you in those scan results.
From our experience, small increases in tumour sizes and activity don't worry my husband's doctor - he looks at the overall picture. You can get small variations in results just from different machines or different people doing them. Some months ago, my husband got a new and pretty active spot in a rib - but they always wondered if it might have been from a physical injury. Over the next 2 scans, it has slowly become less active so they are now pretty sure it wasn't cancer.
If they are keeping you on the same treatment, your team will be happy that its doing the job it needs to. What did your oncologist say about your overall response? If you are still worried, can you email him / her or call your nurse?
Hope that is helpful and best wishes to you.

HI Red58
It is natural to worry about any new find or symptom, especially if you have cancer. Hope you are keeping well with your treatment.
Many nodules may not be cancerous, and the management of these is to observe through the scans, they are often too small to biopsy; nodules between 6mm-10mm are carefully monitored and may be biopsied at 10mm or above. It sounds like you are being well looked after and be reassured by your oncologist.
As Sarah as mentioned, you could always discuss this with your lung cancer nurse specialist.
If there is anything you would like to discuss you can either email ask the nurse at lungcancerhelp@roycastle.org or call our freephone nurse led helpline at 0800 358 7200 Monday to Thursday 0900-1700 and Friday 0900-1600.
All the very best
