Told today at my Chemo session that the PVL1 tests are back & 100% good.

Will this help in future treatment?

Hi Beatless

I take it you meant it is the PD-L1 results; this is a protein that blocks or tricks the immune cells where they do not identify any abnormal cancer cells, thus allowing them to divide and spread.

The higher the percentage of PD-L1 (as in yours 100%) the better the response from the Immunotherapy drugs. These drugs unblock the protein on the cell thus boosting the immune system to destroy the cancer cells.

This article provides some information on this: oncodna.com/en/company/acti...

This is our leaflet on Immunotherapies: roycastle.org/app/uploads/2...

All the best with your treatment and if you would like to discuss anything further you can either email us at lungcancerhelp@roycastle.org or call the free phone nurse led helpline number on 0800 358 7200

Kind regards
