Hi Lorraine yes my nurse has been a great help to me. Nicky always has time to talk and will call me sometimes just to see how I am. I could not have got through these last 2 years without her. A wonderful person who is truly interested in me as a person and not just a patient which is so refreshing! Her name is Nicky de Lobel at Princess Anne Hospital Farnborough Kent.

Thanks for sharing Loz, It sounds as though she has been a great support. It is really good to hear Nicky has gone above and beyond, treating you as a person not just a patient, particularly as the last year has been hard on the NHS.

Are you okay if we share your experiences on social media?

best Lorraine

Yes happy to share!

Hi Lorraine,

I call Nurse Lisa, my Fairy Godmother, nothing is too much trouble. I did't get to know her that well until I unfortunately developed Colitus as a result of Immunotherapy and she has been Superwoman, along with my amazing Oncologist Dr H, she has been organising treatments at the last minute even with Covid, rushing through blood tests, getting specialists involved straight away, checking in on me every couple of days. When it came to my most recent MRI to my brain (as I had melts), she knew getting my driving license was dependent on it and they managed to get the clear results in 24 hours, when they told me it would be 3 weeks. These Macmillan nurses are hand picked for the role that they do, they are like Angels. It's horrible having being diagnosed with Cancer but they make you feel as looked after as they possibly can.

Daisy,It sounds as though a fairy godmother is what you have needed and deserved in the last while. I am sorry your treatment has been rough and hope the side effects are under control. I am so glad to hear your of Lisa's support on recovering your driving license.

thank you for sharing, are you okay if we use your quote on social media?

best wishes

Lorraine
