I’ve heard a couple of different theories so wondered - I was staged IIB (T1c pN1 M0) (curable) at the time of my URL surgery (2/2020), had adjuvant chemo and then a brain MRI and CT scan showed no evidence of disease upon completion of chemo (6/2020). Six months later (12/2020), my brain MRI shows a small 3 mm lesion and my CT scan shows no evidence of disease from lower scull to mid thigh. Does this mean I am now automatically restaged to IV (treatable but not curable)? The brain lesion will be removed by gamma knife this week without a biopsy. Thank you.

Worth asking your clinical team/consultant how they are considering it... have enclosed a link to Roy Castle lung cancer foundation website about recurrence which may explain better - it's good that you're able to have game knife for the brain lesion - wishing you well with your recovery from that. roycastle.org/about-lung-ca...

Hi,
You should ask the consultant managing your care for an explanation regarding the restaging. Gamma Knife radiation is undertaken as a day case procedure, with most patients returning to normal activities the next day. Wishing you all the best with your treatment.
Kind regards,
