Hi there,

I’m afraid now, they call it scanxiety it’s a thing! Try not to focus on it and use distraction techniques. You’ve had the worst news so hopefully it can’t get worse than that! Wishing you luck for your appointment! X

That's great news..... hope you can find a way to celebrate - I used to relish each of these when the time periods were extended. It will get better over time but at the moment it's still early days for you.... it will be 10 years on 16th Dec since my lobectomy - and back then I never thought was possible. I had no further treatment but 'surveillance' is the follow up pathway - so moved into annual check ups quite quick as I felt well and had resumed an active life.

A while later I had a nasty chest infection that laid me low. I found a book called 'cancer is a word not a sentence' by Dr Rob Buckman helped put things in perspective and stop worrying that every cough, symptoms etc after diagnosis was related.... but that didn't stop me getting a little anxious before follow up appointments even when they were once a year. good luck with your continued recovery.

Thankyou janette r57

Well done to you 10 years l do hope l will be as lucky as you. But as you say it is early days it will be a year in March 2021. It is true to say l am worried about catching a colds or chest infection or even worse in these times. So reading Rob Buckmans book has helped.

All the best for the future
