Hello, I'm currently on cycle no. 7 (chemo and immunatherapy) for terminal stage 4 lung cancer with 5 more cycles to go and am finding the side effects following treatment are getting worse and it takes me longer to recover. I seem to spend more time feeling rough than anything and somedays I feel like giving up. It's like having a permanent hangover without the headache. Does it get any easier, I guess not..... I would b interested to hear how others are coping. Kind regards

Chemo side effects
Dear Bailey19260
Welcome to the forum and sorry to hear you are feeling quite unwell with the side effects. It is not uncommon for some people to experience how you feel and as the cycles go on the more it can build up in your system, which in time settles down once treatment has stopped.
If you are finding it is really affecting your quality of life it may be possible to temporarily stop the treatment until you feel a bit better and may be worth discussing this with your lung cancer nurse specialist or oncologist.
Hope you will hear form some people in the forum who have been on this treatment and can advise you from their own experience.
If you wish to discuss anything you can either email us at lungcancerhelp@roycastle.org or call our freephone nurse led helpline number on 0800 358 7200
Kind regards
