Good news ré. Chest ct scan..

Hi all got results of my chest ct scan after a shadow been found on xray in May after being hospitalised for chest infection. Had 6week follow up xray in June which showed shadow still there.. So had chest ct with contrast 3 weeks ago and only got results back today.scan clear No nodules or mass found.. It was a big weight off my shoulders. Now its time to pack in the ciggies.. Thanks for all the support.. ❤️Xx

Thank you so much.. I'm determined to quit. I'm off to London today to see my son.. So glad I got results before I go..am going to enjoy my last weekend of smoking before I quit. Even tho my son is real anti smoking.. ☺️❤️

Hi I know I got good news about my ct scan..as I only spoke to the consultant on the phone about results..i would just like to know.. Does a chest ct with contrast show both lungs or just area where shadow was..I was meaning to ask him but it was a quick call to say all clear..xx

Hi,

A chest CT scan is a more detailed type of chest x ray that takes many detailed pictures, called slices, of your lungs and the inside of your chest. Computers can combine these pictures to create three-dimensional (3D) models to help show the size, shape, and position of both your lungs and structures in your chest for example, the heart and bones around these areas.

Thanks so much for your reply..the only question I asked him was did my copd or asthma show up as I was only diagnosed about year and half ago he just said no..?.. Could I also ask you about a subclavian stenosis I have which I have been diagnosed with 5 years ago. Am ón aspirin and station's for but don't need treatment for as my blood flows through an other artery beside the blocked one so I've been told... Would the blocked artery have shown on the scan do you know.. Sorry for all the questions.. Many thanks..

I am not sure as this would probably depend on the CT scanner used. For example, there are normal and high resolution scans.
